Yes! We finally got a proof of our home study assessment on Friday. Our entire lives summarized in 19 pages. Only a few minor corrections to be made and then we'll get our final notarized copy. Once we have that, we can start applying for grants! Amazingly, God has provided the funds so far in the process. I still keep saying to myself, "Where has the money come from?!" A year ago we were living paycheck to paycheck... Recently, I read an important lesson (in my old testament homework no less) that sometimes in making decisions that we aren't quite sure what God wants us to do, we just need to have enough faith to ACT. Often times we want a sign before we act. In the story of Moses by the burning bush, God promised him a sign that would confirm that Moses was the one chosen to go to save the people, but Moses would not receive that sign until after the people were out of Egypt! "Often we can't be absolutely sure about God's will until after we have done what we believed God wanted us to do." (Step by Step through the Old Testament, 64)
So looking back just over a year ago, Eric and I had some doubts but we stepped out on faith and NOW we can see God's blessings throughout the past year that confirm that we made the right decision to adopt at this time.
Please pray for us to have the energy to complete the applications for various grants in the next week.
